Equality, Diversity & Belonging Policy
Brandwin Digital Limited
- A) INTRODUCTION
- Our Philosophy: We are an equal opportunities employer, but we strive for more than just “opportunity.” We are committed to fostering a culture of belonging, where every member of staff feels seen, heard, and valued. This policy ensures that no applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.
- The Brandwin Standard: We value people as individuals with diverse opinions, cultures, and lifestyles. This policy applies to all areas of our agency—from recruitment and digital deployment to career development and promotion. We proactively monitor our practices to ensure that no barriers—intentional, unintentional, or systemic—prevent our team from thriving.
- Responsibility: The Director has particular responsibility for implementing and monitoring this policy. However, creating a sense of belonging is a collective effort. Every employee, contractor, and freelancer at Brandwin Digital is expected to treat others with dignity and respect.
- Utilising Talent: Selection for employment or promotion is based strictly on aptitude and ability. We are committed to helping every individual develop their full potential, ensuring the diverse talents of our workforce are fully utilised to drive our agency’s innovation.
- B) OUR COMMITMENT AS AN EMPLOYER
- Culture of Recognition: To create an environment where individual differences and unique contributions are not just “tolerated” but are recognised as essential to our creative success.
- Zero Tolerance: Every worker is entitled to an environment that promotes dignity. We have zero tolerance for intimidation, bullying, or harassment, including harassment from third-party clients or vendors.
- Growth for All: Training and progression opportunities are transparent and accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or working pattern.
- Continuous Review: We regularly review our employment practices, digital tools, and office culture to ensure they reflect modern standards of fairness and belonging.
- C) OUR COMMITMENT AS A SERVICE PROVIDER
- Inclusive Marketing: We aim to provide digital services that are accessible and inclusive. We challenge stereotypes in the content we create and the strategies we deploy.
- Diverse Needs: We deliver services that meet the diverse needs of our clients and their end-users, regardless of social class, caring responsibilities, or protected characteristics.
- Accountability: We have clear procedures for clients, candidates, and employees to raise grievances. Breaches of this policy are regarded as misconduct and may lead to disciplinary proceedings or termination of business contracts.
- D) BELONGING & EQUITY STATEMENTS
AGE
- We challenge discriminatory assumptions about “digital natives” (younger) or “traditionalists” (older).
- We ensure equal access to high-level tech training and promotion regardless of life stage.
DISABILITY & NEURODIVERSITY
- We provide reasonable adjustments and embrace neurodiversity (e.g., ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia) as a strength in the creative and analytical process.
- We seek to improve digital accessibility, ensuring information is available in alternative formats.
RACE & ETHNICITY
- We are an anti-racist organisation. We challenge racism wherever it occurs and respond swiftly to incidents.
- In the UK, while the workforce is diverse, representation in senior management across the marketing sector remains a focus area. At Brandwin, we actively promote race equality to ensure our leadership reflects the diversity of the community we serve.
GENDER & GENDER REASSIGNMENT
- We challenge gender-based assumptions in the tech and agency space.
- We provide full support for employees undergoing gender reassignment and ensure our systems (HR, email, etc.) respect chosen names and pronouns.
SEXUAL ORIENTATION
- We ensure the needs of the LGBTQ+ community are met and promoted within our internal culture.
- We celebrate diverse identities and ensure our benefits and social activities are inclusive of all orientations.
RELIGION OR BELIEF
- We respect and accommodate religious observances and festivals.
- We foster an environment where employees can express their beliefs safely, provided they do not infringe on the rights of others.
PREGNANCY, MATERNITY & CAREGIVING
- We ensure no individual is disadvantaged by taking maternity, paternity, or adoption leave.
- We recognise that “belonging” means supporting those with caring responsibilities through flexible working where possible.
EQUAL PAY
- We ensure all employees receive the same contractual pay and benefits for equal work or work of equal value. We conduct regular audits to prevent pay gaps based on gender, race, or any other protected characteristic.
